The integration of automated workflows empowers researchers to expand the scope and scale of experiments, paving the way for the exploration of cutting-edge technologies. Advanced robotics facilitates assay execution with minimal human intervention, laying the foundation for fully robotic Self-Driving Labs powered by cloud-based science. By automating the entire assay process, experiments are carried using digital acquisition and revision by machine learning , ensuring consistent data and enabling highly reproducible discoveries.

At HELMA we would now like to concentrate explicitly in the field of autonomous research in two key areas:

1) Health Technologies and Biomedical Engineering

2) Accelerated and Autonomous Materials Discovery

which have a completely different focus on material system development and health technologies, and thus strive for an expanded alliance with the key players currently leading the field, but still achieve technology sovereignty with our USP.

The SDL Network "Health Technologies and Biomedical Engineering" combines the already advanced SDLs at KIT in the field of health technologies and biomedical engineering with the SDL activities of our partner Hereon.
