Our Alliance is focussing on SDLs for adapting imaging systems to spatial transcriptome and proteome data, for mapping regulatory networks, for the inverse design of microbiomes, for developing adaptive biomaterials and polymers for implants and for use in bioelectronics, as well as for automated cell culture, implant performance and the analysis of biological processes. Another focus is the scale-up of biomedical innovations in a digital, autonomous pilot process, e.g. for the production of novel personalized active ingredients or highly intelligent material systems for new sensors or wearables. The SDL network at the two sites are open core facilities that support the research and development work of the Helmholtz Centers KIT and Hereon and its partners from science, industry and government.
